Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Stepdown Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care within various units. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients who require a higher level of care but do not need full intensive care. Opportunities may arise to float between units to ensure comprehensive care for patients with similar needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including vital signs and ECG readings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Remain flexible to assist in various units as operational needs demand.
• Participate in ongoing education and training as required.

Schedule

This position requires a rotating schedule with day and night shifts, encompassing 12-hour shifts. There may be variability in shifts based on operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent nursing experience in a stepdown specialty.
• Current Ohio nursing license or a compact state license is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) is required.
• Ability to work at least every other holiday is mandatory.
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments required during orientation.
