Position Summary

The Physical Therapist manages a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic. The role involves a commitment to corporate pillars of excellence, focusing on patient-centered care, employee development, community satisfaction, and financial viability. Responsibilities include supporting medical staff, participating in interdisciplinary team functions, providing skilled physical therapy evaluations, and establishing treatment plans. The Physical Therapist optimizes department revenue streams, manages expenses, and ensures compliance with all governing body guidelines. Additionally, the role involves coordinating orthopedic specialty field clinics and collaborating with administrative teams to enhance operational processes.

Position Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
• Minimum Experience: Four (4) years of active, full-time patient care experience. Management experience is preferred.
• License, Certification, Registration: Must be licensed in good standing in Alaska as a Physical Therapist. Current BLS certification is required.

Equipment and Tools

The position utilizes a range of office and physical therapy equipment, including, but not limited to:

• Office equipment (computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine)
• Standard Physical Therapy Department equipment (hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation modalities)
• Village-based treatments with portable equipment (theraband, ultrasound, etc.) with travel on small planes.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

• Language Skills: Ability to comprehend complex instructions, detailed correspondence, and documentation; capable of professional written correspondence and effective presentations in varying group sizes.
• Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; able to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
• Computer Skills: Skilled in creating and editing written correspondence, proficient in using MS Excel for spreadsheets and graphs, and adept at creating MS PowerPoint presentations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense in carrying out detailed instructions and managing administrative and patient care challenges.

Shift Information

The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, with holiday coverage required.
