We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Circulating and Scrub Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing comprehensive care to surgical patients throughout their preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative phases, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based care to surgical patients.
• Function as the circulating nurse by coordinating patient care and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Document surgical procedures and advocate for patient safety.
• Function as the scrub nurse by establishing and maintaining the sterile field, preparing instruments and supplies, and anticipating surgeon needs.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate proficiency in various surgical specialties, including general surgery, hand surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, and podiatry.
• Participate in emergency and trauma procedures as necessary.
• Assist with inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Adapt to fluctuating surgical volumes and staffing needs in a rural healthcare setting.
• Promote a culture of patient safety, teamwork, and continuous learning while adhering to policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS may be required.
• Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrub roles.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a rural healthcare setting is preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Travel experience may be required.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 5x8, 40 hours per week.
• Holiday coverage may be required.
