The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in long-term care settings by developing and implementing effective treatment plans. These plans focus on improving swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities, and reducing the risk of aspiration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans for residents.
• Implement communication strategies to help residents improve their understanding and expression capabilities.
• Lead and guide the delivery of speech-language pathology services in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
• Provide thorough documentation of services and resident progress in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to resident care.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted license in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Missouri.
• Compliance with educational prerequisites as stipulated by licensing requirements.
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• At least one year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, with specific experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.

Work Schedule

This position involves 8-hour shifts during the day, with occasional weekend requirements but no on-call responsibilities.
