Position Overview

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical/Oncology Registered Nurse to join a 29-bed unit focused on adult patients battling cancer, as well as providing palliative care and family education. The unit also accommodates urology and telemetry patients.

Shift Details

• 3x12 hour shifts, 7pm - 7am
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedules may be accommodated

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 4-5:1 during day shifts and 5-6:1 during night shifts.
• Provide comprehensive care for medical and surgical patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and central line draws.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage PCA pumps.
• Assist in bone marrow aspiration and care for Pleurx chest tubes.
• Educate patients and their families on oncological processes and treatment options.
• Float within scope to meet the facility's needs as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar setting.
• BLS certification is required; ONCC/ONS certification is preferred.
• Current WV/Compact RN License; pending licenses may be considered.
• Experience in chemotherapy administration is preferred but not mandatory for strong candidates.
