Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated PCU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a progressive care unit specializing in post-operative open heart and other cardiothoracic surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage post-operative open heart patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Implement and manage plans of care for a 4:1 patient ratio.
• Assist with chest tube insertion, management, and removal.
• Provide central line management and experience with external/internal pacemakers and wound vacs.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Experience with chest tube procedures and central line maintenance.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Willingness to accommodate blocked schedule requests.

Contract Details

• 36 or 48 hour contract options available.
• Orientation held every other week on Thursday.
• Floating may be required within the scope of the position.

Additional Information

Must hold a valid nursing license in the state of practice. Covid vaccination is required with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis. Flu vaccinations are also mandatory unless medical proof is provided for exemption.
