Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care to post-operative open heart and other cardiothoracic surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. This position may also include accepting Med/Surg overflow patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in a 29-bed Progressive Care Unit.
• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1 to ensure optimal care delivery.
• Assist with chest tube insertion, management, and removal.
• Utilize skills in central line insertion and management.
• Oversee the use of external/internal pacemakers and wound vacuums.
• Contribute to a collaborative care team and float within your scope as needed.

Work Schedule

• Shifts available: 3x12 or 4x12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM).
• Every other weekend required.
• Available block schedule requests will be considered.

Orientation

Orientation is conducted bi-weekly on Thursdays to facilitate a smooth onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are necessary.
• Proven experience with chest tube management, central lines, and pacing devices.
• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of West Virginia.
• Must comply with vaccination requirements, including a COVID-19 vaccine.
