Description
Join our specialized Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), a high-acuity hospital unit dedicated to delivering 24-hour monitoring and advanced care for patients recovering from intricate heart, lung, and vascular surgeries, as well as those facing severe cardiac and respiratory conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the CTICU.
- Monitor patients’ conditions and vital signs continuously, assessing and responding to changes in status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and treatment options.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years specifically in CT or CVICU.
- Experience working in a Level 1 trauma setting preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
- Travel nursing experience is required.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA are mandatory.
- Must have been separated from previous employment for a minimum of 6 months to be considered.
Work Schedule
This position requires a rotating schedule that includes both day and night shifts, totaling 36 hours per week.
Additional Information
Scrubs of any color are acceptable, with a weekly orientation provided for new hires.
