Job Description
The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for administering radiation treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists. The role encompasses the following key responsibilities:
- Administering radiation treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists.
- Positioning patients accurately for treatment sessions.
- Operating radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
- Monitoring patients during treatment for any reactions or complications.
- Maintaining detailed treatment records and documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols.
- Calibrating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment.
- Collaborating with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Shift Notes
Shifts can vary, with the potential for early start times as early as 6:30 AM. Alternatively, arrangements for a later start may be made, with finishing times around 8:30 PM.
Weekend and On-Call Requirements
No weekend or on-call requirements are associated with this position.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience is required.
- Certification from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) is required.
