Description

Inpatient General Surgery Registered Nurse (RN)

Department: Ortho/Urology Unit

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Inpatient General Surgery Registered Nurse to work in a dynamic environment. This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, with rotating day and night shifts.

Unit Overview: The Ortho-Urology Unit is a 36-bed adult inpatient unit specializing in orthopedic, urological, and surgical care. The patient population primarily consists of individuals recovering from surgical procedures or preparing for surgery, coming from the Emergency Department or clinical admissions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and urology patients in a post-surgical and pre-surgical setting.
Monitor patient progress and respond to changing conditions effectively.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and health maintenance.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level 1 trauma or equivalent experience required.
At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred.
