We are seeking a motivated Respiratory Therapist with specialized experience in neonatal and pediatric care. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring effective patient care and communication with the healthcare team.

Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will provide assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders and associated complications. The position requires expertise in managing ventilatory support for various patient populations, including neonates and children.

Responsibilities

• Conduct respiratory therapy assessments and protocols.
• Perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis.
• Manage ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) therapy.
• Deliver medication, perform airway clearance, and assist with intubations, tracheostomy changes, and decannulation.
• Respond to emergencies and engage in ICU rounds.
• Transport patients safely within the hospital environment.
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and provide care for patients including gestational ages of 22 weeks and above.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist, with a focus on NICU and PICU populations.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
• Experience with high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, and ventilator management for micro-preemies in a level 4 NICU.
• Valid state respiratory therapy license or willingness to apply for licensing.

Work Environment

The Respiratory Therapist will work in a supportive team environment that includes charge RTs and multiple RTs per shift. Training and orientation will be provided, including lab and practical experience with experienced team members.
