Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our 3N Cardiac/Tele/Dialysis unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate nursing care to cardiac medical and surgical patients, including those post-cath lab and post-cardiac surgery.
• Manage and monitor patients recovering from procedures such as stent placements, pacers, and valve replacements.
• Titrate drips including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, and Amiodarone as required.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring to track patient status and respond to changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment.
• Proven experience with post-procedural care for cath lab patients and management of TR band compression devices.
• Strong skills in managing patients with chest pain, arrhythmias, and other cardiac conditions.
• Must possess ACLS and BLS certifications.

Unit Details

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Bed Capacity: 29 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4 on days through 2300; 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
• Telemetry monitoring is centralized, reducing the need for RNs to read strips.

Schedule and Requirements

• Shift: Nights, from 1900 to 0730, with every other weekend and holiday required.
• Floating may be required based on unit census needs.
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling available as per unit needs.
• Orientation includes one shift of HR onboarding and one shift on the unit.

Additional Information

Respiratory Therapy support is available 24/7 to assist with treatments and care. RN responsibilities include monitoring and providing incentive spirometry. Nurses will benefit from working within a structured unit that emphasizes teamwork and high standards of patient care.
