Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pre-Admission Testing to join our team of highly autonomous nursing professionals. The ideal candidate will evaluate patients' readiness for surgical procedures by conducting thorough investigations of medical records and providing education to patients on how to best prepare for surgery.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess patients' medical records to determine readiness for surgical procedures.
- Conduct phone consultations with patients to provide surgical preparation education.
- Collaborate closely with surgical and anesthesiology teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Utilize strong assessment skills to identify any pre-operative concerns and address them accordingly.
- Work autonomously while adhering to surgeon and anesthesia guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pre-Testing/Admission.
- Previous surgical and pre-operative experience required.
- High proficiency in orthopedic procedures, general surgeries including hernia repairs and mastectomies, and male urological procedures.
- Experience with endoscopic procedures is preferred.
- Must possess a current and active Registered Nurse license for New Hampshire or a compact state license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Previous travel nursing experience is highly preferred.
- Candidates must have their own vehicle for transportation.
Work Schedule and Requirements
- Days, 40-hour workweek.
- Weekend and holiday requirements may apply.
- Requested time off must be included in the profile during submission, with a maximum of 5 days allowed.
- Travelers may be required to work key holiday periods, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
Dress Code
Business casual attire is expected while in the workplace.
