Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Ambulatory Surgery department. The ideal candidate will have strong overall Operating Room experience, with a preference for individuals experienced in orthopedic procedures, including total joints, scopes, fractures, and podiatry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Operating Room for surgical procedures.
• Manage patient care before, during, and after surgical interventions.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
• Participate in modified self-scheduling to accommodate personal work preferences while ensuring departmental needs are met.

Shift Details

• 8-hour day shifts.
• The schedule consists of 4 shifts one week (32 guaranteed hours) and 5 shifts the following week (40 guaranteed hours).
• No on-call responsibilities or weekend shifts required.
• Holiday work is not required.

Unit Information

• Number of surgical suites: 10 plus 2 procedure rooms.
• Average number of cases per day: 40-50.
• Common procedures include orthopedic, GGU, ENT, and ophthalmology surgeries.
• Scrub assistance is helpful but not mandatory for RNs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Operating Room.
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).
• Experience with orthopedic procedures preferred.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a departmental orientation lasting between 3 to 5 days, with the aim to complete it within 3 days.

Other Information

RNs may share responsibilities with the inpatient Operating Room staff as needed. Scrubs will be provided, ensuring a professional appearance at all times.
