We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team in a fast-paced rehabilitation unit. This role requires a compassionate caregiver who is committed to providing quality care to patients recovering from various medical conditions.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients, focusing on rehabilitation from conditions such as stroke, trauma, and orthopedics.
• Maintain patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals during team conferences to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols, including IV fluids and antibiotics.
• Supervise and support nursing aides and ancillary staff on the unit.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary in coordination with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year experience in a medical-surgical or rehabilitation setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Previous experience in rehabilitation nursing is preferred; first-time travelers with rehabilitation experience will be considered.
• Ability to work every other weekend and some holidays as required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Unit Information

• 10 private patient rooms with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
• A variety of patient diagnoses, with an average length of stay of 10-14 days.
• Unit staffed with Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy, along with nursing support for respiratory treatments.

Work Environment

• Two 12-hour orientation shifts are provided to new staff.
• Flexible scheduling options are available, with shifts including 12-hour and standard hours.
• Professional dress code with clean and appropriate attire required.
