Shift Information

Full-time, Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with occasional call until 7:00 PM. No overnight call or weekend shifts required.

Position Overview

This role is responsible for performing surgical technician functions in the surgical area and providing patient care in alignment with established hospital and departmental standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP.
• BCLS certification required.
• Experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Health and Employment Requirements

Prior to starting in the position, the following items must be submitted:

• Resume
• Two recent employment references
• Online verification of licensure or certification, including expiration date and any disciplinary actions, within 30 days of start date
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (copy of both sides of the card)
• Immunizations, including:
  • MMR (Mumps, Rubeola & Rubella) either 2 doses or Positive Titers
  • Varicella - positive titer or 2 Varicella Vaccines
  • Polio
  • Hepatitis B Series, titer, or signed declination
  • Current TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) within the last 10 years
  • Flu vaccination required during Flu Season
• Negative 2-step Mantoux test within 1 year of start or QuantiFERON Gold. If positive, proof of positive result and chest X-ray results are required.
• Proof of physical examination within 1 year of start date
• 10 Panel Drug Screen within 1 month of start date
• Respiratory Fit Test within 1 year of start date (can be provided if not previously available)
• Criminal background check from all states where licensed or lived/ worked in the past 7 years within 30 days of start date
• National and/or State Sex Offender Registry check
• GSA(EPLS) Sam.gov check within 30 days of start date
• OIG check within 30 days of start date
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse)
• Completion of CareLearning education modules, including Mandatory Reporter training, if not already certified, to be completed prior to start.
