Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical

We are seeking a competent and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a medical/surgical setting. This role involves providing both routine and complex patient care, with a particular focus on adult patients undergoing medical and surgical interventions.

Summary

The Registered Nurse will practice independently and demonstrate awareness of relevant aspects of patient care situations. This position involves developing long-range care goals and effectively managing the contingencies of clinical nursing. The RN will also be responsible for appropriate assignments and delegation to other care providers to enhance the management of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately and timely.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identify issues and available resources to support learning.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Active RN license in the state of Texas or compact state.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
