Unit Description

This unit features 37 beds catering to a diverse adult patient population. Each bed is equipped for cardiac monitoring, accommodating patients with varying illnesses, from uncomplicated cases to sub-critical conditions, including post-operative transplant patients.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Work Schedule: Weekdays, every other weekend required
• Contract Options: 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Overtime: Available after 48 hours for 4x12 shifts

Orientation Schedule

Orientation is held every other week on Thursdays and Fridays, starting with a full day in the computer lab on Thursday, followed by a morning session on Friday. Participants will report to the facility for badge issuance and unit introductions.

Patient Ratios

The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• At least 1 year of specialty-specific experience required
• New travelers are welcome to apply

Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Floating Requirements

Clinicians may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs.

Additional Information

• Blocked schedule requests may be accommodated based on unit needs.
• Radius Requirement: 100-mile radius; exceptions for 75-99 miles can be approved.
• Pending licenses are accepted for those who can submit with a pending RN license.

Parking and Scrub Color

Free parking is available for travelers. Required scrub colors are royal blue and white for RNs.

Hospital Overview

This is a short-term acute care facility and a Level 1 trauma center that serves as a major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). It features a total of 855 staffed beds and uses Cerner for charting.
