Position Overview

The Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) will be responsible for providing support in the operating room by scrubbing, circulating, and managing equipment documentation. This position requires experience in cardiovascular (CV) surgery and general surgery, with a focus on high-stakes surgical environments.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, weekdays (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• On-call requirements: Occasional weeknight shifts from 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM and one weekend per month; may appear as two weekends in a five-week schedule.

Unit Information

• Number of operating rooms: 14
• Average daily census: 25 cases
• Types of cases: Scrub, circulate, and document equipment usage.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room setting.
• Required experience with CVOR cases including:
  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
  • Carotid Endarterectomy
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
  • Mitral Valve Replacement
  • Pericardial Window
• Preferred experience with additional CVOR procedures such as:
  • Atherectomy
  • Atrial Septal Defect Repair
  • Cardiomyoplasty
  • Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft
  • Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery
  • TAVR
  • VAD
• Required experience in general, endoscopic/laparoscopic, and thoracic surgery.
• Preferred experience in vascular, urology, and orthopedic/total joints surgery.

Certifications and Licenses

• National Certification: NBSTSA required.
• BLS certification required.
• Pending license accepted; active state or compact OR tech license required prior to start.

Additional Information

• No floating required.
• Specialty equipment utilized includes OR tables, yellow fin stirrups, battery-operated equipment, and positioning aids.
