We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse for a position in a fast-paced, 48-bed cardiac telemetry Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This unit predominantly serves adult patients with various cardiac conditions, providing a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions including congestive heart failure, NSTEMI, AFib with RVR, and post-cardiac catheterization.
• Function within a team nursing approach alongside PCAs/CNAs and LPNs.
• Administer medications and manage drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem/Diltiazem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and insulin.
• Perform blood product administration, peripheral IV management, phlebotomy, and start/maintain IVs.
• Ensure timely patient discharge and engage in hourly rounding and bedside shift reporting.
• Float to other units as required by facility needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of PCU/Telemetry experience is required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital or Level I/II trauma center is preferred.
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience is required.
• Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization experience is required.
• Familiarity with heparin protocols and PCA management is required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Completion of Prophecy Relias Basic EKG assessment is required.
• 4 hours of stroke continuing education annually is required.

Work Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend commitment is required.
• No block scheduling options are available.
