Description
This position entails collaboration with a healthcare team, patients, and families to promote patient health through the delivery of professional nursing care. Care must be age-appropriate and tailored to the patient's condition, following documented nursing and medical plans in accordance with evidence-based nursing practices and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients in a pediatric acute care setting.
- Deliver care to tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients across various ICU locations.
- Float to different units when acute care assignments are not available, assuming patient assignments as necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including vaccination requirements and masking during respiratory virus seasons.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse in pediatric acute care. Proficiency in providing care for tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent patients is essential. Previous experience in a children's healthcare setting is preferred.
- Education: An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or a Nursing Diploma.
- Certification/License:
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Arizona or a compact state with multistate privileges.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
All candidates must comply with vaccination requirements, including a mandated flu vaccination during designated months. Exemption applications must be submitted and approved prior to starting the position. Those not vaccinated for Flu or COVID-19 must sign a Declination & Masking Protocol agreement and follow masking protocols during the entire respiratory virus season.
