Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients preparing for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the preoperative process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments for patients.
• Insert IV lines and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any concerns or changes in condition.
• Educate patients on the surgical process and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition from preoperative to operative care.
• Participate in quality assurance and best practices within the department.

Schedule

This position is a day shift, working a 4x10 schedule from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The RN is expected to work holidays as they fall within the schedule and will not be required to work weekends or on-call shifts.

Floating Requirements

Candidates must be willing to float to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PreOperative care.
• Ability to start IVs and prepare patients for surgery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
