Job Description

This position offers a 36-hour guarantee for nurses specializing in stepdown care. The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts, with a requirement for every other weekend and holiday rotations. The role does not include on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive nursing care for patients.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Provide leadership and collaborate effectively with nursing and ancillary staff.
• Maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
• Float to other departments as needed, including Kingsbury.

Patient Population

The primary patient demographic includes adult and geriatric patients.

Dress Code

Professional scrubs without logos are required.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

The facility uses Epic for electronic medical record management.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience is required.
• Experience with cardiac drips is a necessity; please note your experience in your profile.
• Dementia experience and management is required.
• NIHSS certification is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with Epic is mandatory.
• Candidates must have their own vehicle, as the location is a small community without public transportation.
• All time-off requests must be made prior to submission, with a cap of 5 days accepted.

Certification Requirements

• NIH Stroke Certification (required)
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) (required)
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) (required)

Compliance

All medical/occupational health compliance items must be ordered, collected, and resulted within five days of offer acceptance. Proofs must be uploaded as required.

Additional Information

Requests for block scheduling will not be accommodated. Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work two specific holiday blocks if scheduled/needed around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
