Position Overview

This position involves working in a locked incarcerated unit within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate must be comfortable interacting with the prison population and be prepared to float to various units, including medical-surgical, telemetry, forensics, and potentially ICU settings as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a correctional environment.
• Float to other medical-surgical and telemetry units as required.
• Participate in holiday rotations, working three of the designated holidays, based on assigned holiday group.
• Coordinate schedule swaps with peers when possible to manage personal preferences around holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates are accepted and will receive the same rate as travelers.

Contract Details

All contracts starting in September are expected to extend into the new year to ensure proper holiday coverage. Nurses should be prepared to contribute to holiday staffing as specified in the contract guidelines.

Work Schedule

Day shift for this position consists of 3 twelve-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00). Please note that block schedules are not available for this role.
