Description
This position focuses on providing nursing care within a locked incarcerated unit of the hospital. Candidates must be comfortable working with a prison population and managing the associated challenges.
Unit Information
Staff will float to various MS/Tele units as needed, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU settings.
Shift Details
- Night Shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00)
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality nursing care to patients within the incarcerated unit.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient health and assess changes in condition.
- Participate in the holiday rotation, working three of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
- Candidates must possess the following certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification, with MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) accepted in lieu of CPI.
- First-time travelers are welcome, and local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
Additional Information
All contracts beginning in September should extend into the new year to ensure adequate holiday coverage.
