We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pediatric emergency care and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for pediatric patients with a variety of diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments, including IV therapy and sedation as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Triaging patients effectively within established protocols and guidelines.
• Monitor and document patient conditions accurately in the electronic health record.
• May be required to float to other locations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must have 2+ years of recent experience in emergency department nursing.
• Pediatric emergency department experience is highly preferred.
• Valid RN license for the state of practice (Georgia or Compact).
• Current certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS are required.
• TNCC certification is a significant advantage.
• Proven experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Strong IV skills are required.

Unit Information:

• Number of beds: 36
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
• Common patient diagnoses: sickle cell pain/fever, asthma, behavioral health issues, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), acute gastroenteritis (AGE), and fever in pediatric patients.
• Medications managed include insulin, sedation drips, resuscitation medications, and other non-chemotherapy drugs.

Notes:

• This is a nicotine-free facility; candidates must undergo drug screening.
• Annual flu vaccination is required, and no exceptions will be accepted.
• Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.
