We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department.
• Manage and monitor patients with a variety of diagnoses including sickle cell pain, asthma, behavioral health issues, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
• Administer intravenous (IV) medications and manage sedation and insulin drips.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC electronic health records system.
• May be required to float to other locations based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience is required.
• Pediatric Emergency Department experience is highly preferred.
• Current Georgia or compact RN license is required.
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• TNCC certification is a significant advantage.
• Strong IV skills are required.

Unit Information

• Number of beds: 36
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
• Common patient conditions: Sickle cell pain, fever, asthma, behavioral health, DKA, and acute gastroenteritis.
• Use of Hamilton T1 ventilators.
• Administration of resuscitation medications; management of all medications except chemotherapy.

Additional Requirements

• This is a nicotine-free facility; all candidates must undergo drug screening.
• Flu vaccination is a requirement with no exceptions or declinations accepted.
