Job Description

Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a night shift position with a work schedule of 36 or 48 hours per week, including every other weekend. The role involves floating to medical/surgical units as required.

Unit Overview

This position is within a 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at a Level III Trauma Center. The unit caters to a broad range of adult patients with various critical conditions, including but not limited to:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleeds
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

Medical staff, including Attendings and Residents, are available in the ICU around the clock to provide support.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain telemetry competency and be able to read tele strips.
• Participate in the care of critically ill patients, following appropriate assessment and intervention protocols.
• Float to medical/surgical units as necessary, managing a patient load of 4 to 5 patients.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU experience is necessary.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and maintain a flexible schedule.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
