Schedule: 7 AM - 7 PM with weekend rotation.

Education, Licensure, Certifications & Qualifications:

• Current licensure in the state of Maine as a Registered Nurse or Compact licensure, in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior experience in a hospital setting for at least 2 years is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to apply evidence-based practice, accepted protocols, and nursing judgment to maintain professional nursing standards in clinical settings.
• Basic knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and related equipment.
• Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize multiple patient assignments.
• Understanding of care protocols for oncology patients.
• Safe and timely administration of medications, with a focus on evaluation and documentation of effectiveness.
• Engagement in committees and initiatives aimed at improving patient satisfaction, quality care, and cost reduction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide compassionate and professional nursing care to patients while directing the activities of paraprofessional staff in delivering care. Ensure effective communication with patients, support persons, and healthcare team members. Implement nursing care using the Nursing Process which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Adhere to hospital policies, Nursing Department protocols, and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Maine.
