Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our medical-surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment. This position is suitable for first-time travelers with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and response to treatment.
• Educate patients and families on health management and care processes.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members.

Shift Details

• Night shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekend commitment: Every other weekend

Holiday Requirements

Travelers may be required to work major holidays based on their assignment duration:

• One major holiday: Expected to work.
• Two major holidays: Expected to work both.
• Three major holidays: Expected to work two.

Major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance Requirements

Full compliance is required to ensure timely onboarding. Non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Orientation Information

The number of non-billable orientation hours is determined by the contract duration:

• 8 hours for an 8-week assignment
• 10 hours for a 10-week assignment

Certifications

Preferred certifications include:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Additional Information

This position allows for floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed. Please note that there are no blocked schedule requests.

Locals are accepted at the same rate.
