Summary

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will perform a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists as needed, and facilitate smooth patient flow. The role requires flexibility to work different shifts and assist at multiple locations as needed. The CT Technologist will troubleshoot basic maintenance issues, participate in quality assurance, and address problems related to image processing and archiving systems. Ongoing education and adherence to imaging competencies are expected, along with alignment to the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Promote staff growth and collaborate with management, coworkers, and physicians to enhance the work environment.
• Provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to ensure physician satisfaction.
• Adapt patient assessment and care methods to accommodate unique patient needs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Assist in patient throughput by performing examinations and procedures within the scope of competency.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working alternate shifts and at multiple locations as required.
• Ensure that completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in the PACS.
• Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues to the PACS administrator when necessary.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report them to the Director/Manager or Biomedical personnel.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an accepted equivalent.

Experience

• 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Basic computer experience required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Radiography (R) certification by ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technology certification by ARRT or NMTCB is required.
• Computed Tomography (CT) certification by ARRT or NMTCB is required.
• State Licensure required: MRT by TMB (Texas).
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
