CORE JOB SUMMARY: The Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) is proficient in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. This position performs appropriate clinical testing in compliance with department standards and documents in the EMR system.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs and documents patient workups in the electronic medical record, including reason for visit, chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, visual acuity, lensometry, and pupillary evaluation. Completes IVI (intravitreal injection) prep for patients. Facilitates motility exams. Performs imaging including fundus photos, OCTs, and Slit Lamp exams. Provides support to providers, including documentation in patient charts as required. Serves as a lead technician providing oversight to clinical teams when assigned. Adheres to University policies, standards, and required training.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification and Licensing: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). Experience: 2 years of relevant experience.
