Description

Unit: Med/Surg RN

Provide care in a 14-bed unit within a 483-bed acute care hospital, managing a high-acuity, fast-paced patient population.
Ratios: 1:6 (days/nights); must be comfortable with this workload.
Requirements: BLS, NIHSS; 2+ years Med/Surg experience in a large acute-care setting (no CAH).
Patient Types: CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, post-op, wound care, DVT, ETOH, psych.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6:45–7:15); every other weekend; rotating schedule.
Details: Meditech charting; floating required; strong focus on patient safety and satisfaction; Caribbean blue/white scrubs; 3-day orientation.
