Description

Unit: ICU RN (Critical Care)

Provide care in an 8-bed ICU managing high-acuity patients including respiratory failure, post-surgical, cardiac, CVA, trauma, and complex medical conditions.

Ratios: 1:2–3; nurses provide full primary care (no aides).

Requirements: BLS, ACLS; strong ICU experience required.

Skills: Ventilator management, trach care, PEG feeds, central line care (PICC/CVC/Midline), and titration of critical care drips (Propofol, Levophed, Amiodarone, etc.).

Environment: RT available 24/7; Philips telemetry with in-unit monitoring tech; providers onsite days with tele-health MD coverage after hours.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7–7:30); every other weekend; rotating holidays.

Details: EPIC charting; float to Med/Surg as needed; orientation includes classroom + 2 preceptor shifts; fast-paced ICU requiring strong independence and critical care expertise.
