Description

Step-Down RN – Days/Nights

Specialty: Step-Down
Weekly Hours: 48 guaranteed
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
Scheduling: No blocked scheduling
Ratios: 1:4–5
Medication System: Pyxis
Required Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Step-Down experience required
Required Skills: Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV starts, PICC line management, blood administration, cardiac drip titration, CVA/stroke care, BiPAP/CPAP, and chest tube support
Patient Population: CHF, post-heart cath, post-vascular procedures, respiratory failure, and cardiac dysrhythmias
Procedures/Expectations: Post-cath care, TR bands, post-vascular monitoring, frequent vital signs, and neurovascular checks
