Description
Unit: Step-Down / Neuro PCU RN
Provide high-acuity care in a neuro-focused step-down environment, including stroke and post-neurosurgical patients.
May take on expanded responsibilities such as charge, preceptor, and leadership roles.
Requirements: NY RN License; 2+ years Step-Down/PCU experience (required); BLS; telemetry experience.
Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS.
Skills: Advanced neuro care including Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar/subdural drains, arterial lines, and management of 3% saline and Cardene drips.
Experience with carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coiling/clipping, VP shunts, DBS, and seizure management required.
Details: Fast-paced, high-acuity unit requiring strong critical thinking, neuro expertise, and ability to manage complex patients.
