Description

This 36-bed med-surg unit staffs a full 36-patient census with a charge nurse plus a balanced RN/LPN/PCT team (and a unit secretary on days), supporting an estimated 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurses manage a wide range of equipment including IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD and Kangaroo pumps, chest tubes, telemetry, PCA pumps, BiPAP, and epidurals. Strong med-surg experience, critical thinking, and a true team-first mindset are required, with prioritization and time-management skills preferred; common tasks include wound vac changes/wound care, IV insertions, and indwelling Foley catheter placement. Active nursing license, ACLS, and BLS are required, with floating to 6A, 3A, 3 South, and 4 South as needed.
