Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a home health position in Aroostook County, ME.
Details
- Home health setting covering Aroostook County with Presque Isle as the primary area
- Typical caseload of 20-25 patients per therapist, mostly serving adults with post-ortho surgeries, fall risks, and mobility issues
- May occasionally see school-age children
- Daily travel of 50-100 miles within the coverage area is expected
- Uses Netsmart EMR for documentation
- Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with the option for four 10-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation required: 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 4-6 weeks
- No on-call responsibilities
- Coverage of 50% of holidays during the contract is expected
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent PT experience; home health experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy required
- Active ME state license or compact license required; license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance required
- Experience with adult and post-surgical populations is essential
- Ability to travel daily within the coverage area
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessing and treating adult patients with mobility or post-surgical needs in their homes
- PT leads, a scheduler, and phone support from a department leader are available
- 1-2 weeks of department-specific orientation provided
- Business casual attire or any solid-colored scrubs are acceptable
- Flu vaccination is required for all start dates after 9/30/2024, with medical exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates who have ever worked at a Northern Light Health hospital as a permanent employee are not eligible
- First-time travelers will be considered if they meet experience requirements
- RTO requests must be approved by management prior to the assignment
