Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PICU night shift position requiring 1+ year of Neonatal or Pediatric Critical Care experience.

Details

• Work in the NICU/Peds respiratory therapy unit at a hospital with a Level I trauma center and children's hospital
• Care for neonatal and pediatric ICU patient populations
• Uses Servo U and Drager VN500 ventilators, F&P Bubble CPAP, HFOV, HFJV, Vaportherm, and heliox therapy equipment
• Utilizes Epic for documentation
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 12-hour shift basis
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RRT license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent Neonatal ICU or PICU Critical Care experience
• PALS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced 9th Edition certification required for staff caring for neonates
• Must be able to independently admit and manage ventilated patients in Peds ICU using the Servo-U ventilator
• Experience setting up and managing heliox therapy through invasive and non-invasive measures
• Familiarity with non-invasive ventilation including BiPAP and CPAP
• Neonatal skills including Bubble CPAP, nitric oxide use, and high frequency ventilation
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Independently admit and manage ventilated pediatric ICU patients
• Set up and manage heliox therapy via invasive and non-invasive methods
• Provide neonatal respiratory care including Bubble CPAP, nitric oxide therapy, and high frequency ventilation
• Required dress code is Hunter Green scrubs
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
