Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 2+ years of experience for a 13-week contract at a hospital serving a predominantly Native American population in Tuba City, AZ.
Details
- Hospital-based rehabilitation setting serving a predominantly Native American population
- Inpatient and outpatient caseload ranging from birth through geriatric
- Treats speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, voice, and pediatric feeding disorders
- Specialty procedures include Videofluoroscopy (VFSS/MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
- Specialty clinics include geriatric and assistive technology/adaptive equipment evaluation
- Documentation in an electronic health records system
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8am to 5pm; weekend services are not available
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
- Current ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license from Arizona or any U.S. state, D.C., or Puerto Rico — license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Must meet credentialing requirements for Medical Staff privileges
- SSN required for consideration
- SLPAs will not be considered for this position
Additional Information
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results, and determine treatment plans based on physician referral or consultation
- Recommend and implement adjustments to therapy plans based on patient progress
- Instruct patients, families, and staff in speech-language procedures, therapies, and home programs to support carryover of therapeutic goals
- Provide training and in-services for student and staff education
- Collaborate with the Physical Rehabilitation team and other healthcare workers including physicians, nurses, and social workers
- Maintain TCRHCC Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges and comply with federal and state certification requirements and ASHA Scope of Practice standards
- Facility is located in a very rural area; on-site housing may be available but is not guaranteed — a housing application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to start
- Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
- Orientation is conducted every 2 weeks
- COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
