Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with inpatient rehabilitation experience for a 13-week assignment at a brand-new 41-bed inpatient rehab facility in Wichita, KS.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation setting in a brand-new, state-of-the-art 41-bed facility
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Interdisciplinary therapy team of 15–20 staff daily, including PT, OT, and SLP
- 1 OT position on day shift alongside a current staff of 3 OTRs and 3 COTAs
- Patient caseload of up to a 6-hour treatment load per 8-hour shift
- Equipment includes E-stim, patient lifts, ADL equipment, gym equipment, IADL tools, and a full IADL kitchen
- EMR: Meditech
Requirements
- Active KS OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
- Minimum 6 months of current acute care OT experience within the last 6 months
- Experience with E-stim, patient lifts, ADL/IADL equipment, and gym equipment
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform occupational therapy evaluations and treatments focused on ADLs and IADLs
- Each patient has a 3-hour daily therapy requirement; clinicians are responsible for tracking treatment time and charges per patient
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates will be considered
- Experience in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred
- Lymphedema certification is a plus
- Neuro certification or experience is a plus
- Facility features a Vector unweighted system and a fully equipped IADL kitchen
