Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week travel contract in Miami, FL, requiring scrubbing skills and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

  • Cardiac Cath Lab (CVL Invasive) setting within an acute care hospital in Miami, FL
  • 4-room cath lab with a 1:1 patient-to-staff ratio
  • Unit team of 22 staff consisting of RNs and Techs, with a minimum of 3 staff members per room on day shift
  • Procedures include cardiac catheterizations, cerebral angiograms, stents, balloon procedures, and ENT lab cases
  • All GE procedure rooms
  • EMR/documentation system: Meditech and MacLab
  • Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • On-call requirements with a maximum of 15 days of call during critical periods; night shift on-call team includes 4 staff members for STEMI call

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience required; allied candidates must have 6 months of active experience within the last 6 months
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
  • Scrubbing skills required
  • RCIS or ARRT preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
  • Two professional references required for Florida-based candidates
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Scrubs are provided by the unit (surgical scrubs)
  • Daily huddle calls are conducted; building relationships with the Director, staff, and patients is emphasized
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered

I worked in the Respiratory department. The Respiratory manager Alex was a fantastic woman. She does all the on boarding education and she’s your number one person to call for any clinical information scheduling information. She was fantastic.

They need to upgrade their RT equipment and their charting system

Cons

My phone showed her number as spam and I think blocked some of the texts I wish it hadn't have done that but that was nothing on her end all on mine so make sure that you have your settings to allow the calls and texts from spam
