Description

American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level III/IV unit requiring 2 years of NICU experience, NRP certification, and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting within a children's hospital
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
• Treats neonates across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks
• Float requirement to PICU, CVPICU, stepdown, MS, and rarely ED
• Float requirement to BPD NICU with trach care and heavy parent involvement
• May float to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
• Scheduled every other weekend, subject to change based on RTO and unit needs
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required, license must be in hand
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience and 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC, and IV therapy
• Experience administering neonatal medications including vasopressors, antibiotics, and anti-seizure medications
• Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and nitric oxide therapy preferred
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, VP shunts, and ICP monitoring preferred
• Experience managing conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and respiratory distress syndrome
• 2 professional references required at time of consideration, at least one must be from a manager or supervisor

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including high-risk delivery attendance and complex respiratory, cardiovascular, and GI care
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates cannot have worked in a permanent role at this health system within the past 2 years
• Floating to other units and campuses is a strong expectation for this assignment
• Interview process includes an initial screening with the Float Pool Leader followed by a possible second interview with the NICU unit manager
• Makeup shifts within the same pay period may be required for any call-outs or absences
