Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Medical-Surgical ICU unit within a hospital setting
- 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-7:00) using block scheduling
- Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- 2 years of ICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, chest tube assistance, and ABG interpretation
- Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing continuous IV sedation
- Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients and chronic/acute renal failure
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Experience with GI surgery care, IV insulin protocols, and infection prevention/isolation precautions
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a Neuro or Surgical ICU setting
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Candidates residing in certain nearby counties are not eligible for consideration
- Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
