Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Medical-Surgical ICU unit within a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-7:00) using block scheduling
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, chest tube assistance, and ABG interpretation
• Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing continuous IV sedation
• Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients and chronic/acute renal failure
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience with GI surgery care, IV insulin protocols, and infection prevention/isolation precautions

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Neuro or Surgical ICU setting
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in certain nearby counties are not eligible for consideration
• Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
