Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Burn ICU night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU experience, prior travel experience, and an active OK or Compact RN license.

Details

• Burn ICU unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every-other-weekend (EOW) shifts required
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed, with brief unit orientation provided
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Performs wound care, pain management, line placement, and assists with intubation

Requirements

• Active OK or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experienced in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medication administration
• Experienced in CVA/acute stroke management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Knowledgeable in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy

Additional Information

• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
• No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Provides bedside care for critically ill burn ICU patients, including wound care and pain management interventions
