Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg & Oncology unit position in Denver, CO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and an active CO or compact RN license.
Details
- Located on the 5th floor of the main hospital building in a 30-bed Med/Surg & Oncology unit
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week travel contract
- RN-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on both day and night shifts
- Remote telemetry monitoring equipment used on the unit
- EMR: Meditech
- Common procedures include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and medical management
- Travelers may work with only one other RN or independently on the unit, with resources available on the floor
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital acute care Med/Surg experience
- Minimum 2 years of overall clinical experience required
- ONC certification required for any RN working in an oncology capacity
- NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) preferred for candidates with mom/baby experience
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Surgical and medical experience is preferred and will be prioritized during candidate selection
- Ideal candidates are outgoing, confident, and possess strong customer service skills
- Mom/baby experience with NRP is a preferred skill set for this unit
