Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring prior charge experience and required circulating skills for C-sections.
Details
- High-risk L&D unit averaging 2,100 deliveries per year
- Level III NICU in hospital, not an LDRP setting
- Accepts MFM outpatient transfer-ins, with OB managing patient care
- Private OB and family practice providers with delivery privileges, no hospital-owned providers or laborists
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00pm-7:30am), 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirement
- Floating required to Maternity/Mother-Baby, and occasionally to ICU/ED for limited task-type duties
- Uses Epic for documentation
Requirements
- Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP; AWHONN Intermediate preferred
- 1-3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections
- Experience with high-risk L&D skills including amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock management, and vaginal/forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Only AHA or American Red Cross certifications accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, high-risk antepartum and postpartum care, newborn assessment, and pain management support
- Team nursing/helping hands approach used on the unit; assignments matched to clinical scope
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- Orientation includes 1 day of Healthstream training and up to 2 days of unit orientation
- Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
- Former employees of any facility affiliated with Elliot Health System or Solution Health are not eligible for consideration, regardless of separation length
- Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
