Description
American Traveler is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS/RVT certification for a role spanning both hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
Details
- Work as a diagnostic sonographer in the Maternal Fetal Medicine department, floating between an acute care hospital and an outpatient clinic
- Daily caseload of approximately 45 visits per technologist
- 4x8 hour day shifts with varied start times between 7:00-7:30 AM and end times between 3:30-4:00 PM (32 hours/week)
- Weekend coverage required approximately once every 4 to 6 weeks
- No on-call requirements
- May float within scope to meet facility needs as determined by patient volume
- Epic EMR system used for charting
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS certification required
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required
- ARDMS credential in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Pediatric, or MSK required (multiple ARDMS specialties preferred)
- Vascular ultrasound experience required, including arterial studies with bypass grafts and stents
- Completion of a two-year Allied Health education program, Associate of Applied Science degree from an accredited ultrasound program, or bachelor's degree required
- Previous travel assignment experience required
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Facility does not accept local candidates; candidates must not live within 50 miles of either facility
- Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted per assignment with no time off during the first week
- Travelers required to work holidays as needed by the facility
- Hospital setting is Magnet-designated, a teaching facility, and a Level II Trauma center
- Outpatient clinic setting offers free unrestricted parking
- Scrub colors vary by role and are specified in the facility profile

Pros
Management was great, not micromanaging. CNA ratio was amazing, and everyone was always helping each other out.
Cons
Lack of transporters, especially at night..there were none, but we had so many CNA’s to help, rotating schedules. Nights and days in the same week.
