Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week contract requiring 3+ years of recent ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 10-bed ICU unit with 12 staff members
• Day shift charge and AM RN roles covering 7a-7p; night shift charge and PM RN covering 7p-7a
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Uses Phillips monitors, HillRom beds, Omnicell, GE EKG machine, Lifepak 20e defibrillator, Lucas device, and Verathon bladder scanner
• Documents in Meditech Expanse EMR
• Shift schedule is 7AM-7PM
• Every other weekend required with no on-call obligations
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 3+ years of recent ICU experience required
• Previous charge role experience preferred
• Experience with STEMI protocol, stroke protocol, conscious sedation, chest tubes, codes, and intubation preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform critical care nursing duties including STEMI and stroke protocols, conscious sedation, chest tube management, code response, and intubation support
• Ideal candidates are friendly, honest, flexible, compassionate, multi-taskers with strong critical thinking skills and a sense of urgency
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
