Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN for a day/night rotating assignment requiring at least 1 year of tele experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
• Day/Night rotating schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• No fixed rotation; shifts assigned based on organizational needs, which may include primarily nights or days as required
• Must work every other weekend
• Floating required within OSU facilities
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Must have experience monitoring telemetry patients and be able to pass a telemetry test
• Prior travel RN experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and emergency response
• Involves use of Rapid Response/Code teams, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Includes respiratory care such as nasal cannula use, oxygen administration, oxygen tank management, and non-invasive airway management
• Requires adherence to isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel roles
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to urgent processing requirements
